Swimming Through Space Session 7 - Memory Banking Floating

Memory Banking Floating – Instant Access to Zero Inertia

In recent sessions, we have been doing the hard work of internalization. We have learned to skip the mechanical checklists and instantly recall the feeling of our Natural Stance. We have also learned to Memory Bank the feeling of Sinking, allowing us to drop our center of gravity and root to the earth in a fraction of a second.

Today, we complete the duality of our static frame. We are going to Memory Bank the feeling of Floating.

The Power of Buoyancy In the Energy, Calm, Power methodology, if you only sink, you become a rock—heavy, immovable, but utterly stuck. To achieve true Whole Body Tensegrity, that heavy root must be balanced by an equal and opposite upward expansion.

"Floating" is the sensation of your bones resting lightly within the continuous elastic web of your fascia. When chronic muscular tension is released, your structure naturally wants to expand. This creates a profound feeling of weightlessness. It is the feeling of being spring-loaded. When you can access this state instantly, you achieve "zero inertia"—the ability to move in any direction without needing to gather momentum or prepare your muscles.

The Protocol: The Top-Down Release Just as we did with Sinking, we will use our breath and a body scan to find the feeling, and then we will "save" it to our nervous system. Notice that for Floating, we reverse the direction of our scan.

Follow this Practice Prescription along with today's video:

Establish the Frame: Recall the feeling of your activated Natural Stance.

The Top-Down Scan: Bring your awareness to the crown of your head (Baihui). Slowly move your attention downwards—through your neck, shoulders, chest, and hips.

Release and Expand: As you scan downward, use your exhale to dissolve any muscular holding. But instead of feeling heavy, imagine you are removing the heavy links of a chain holding down a helium balloon. As the tension dissolves downward, allow the joints above to gently expand, lift, and lighten.

Become the Observer: You cannot force buoyancy. If you try to lift yourself, you will just engage your shoulder and back muscles, creating more tension. Switch your perspective. Simply watch the tension fall away and observe the lightness that remains.
