The purpose of Casual Practice is not to practice, but to do something else. It just so happens that while doing the something else we are practicing. Simple examples include going for a walk, working on the computer or waiting in line at the store. In each case the purpose is something other than practice but we turn it into practice non-the-less.
Why would we do this? Well, there are a number of reasons:
There are just not enough hours in the day. Casual Practice opens up countless hours to developing and refining your skill if those hours are properly utilized.
Self-defense must be reflexive in nature. Casual Practice requires us to use what we have gained in our everyday life, to make it natural, to make it normal.
Deception. Preforming casual tasks while your integrated strength is active helps you to internalize the skill. Again from a self-defense perspective, integrated strength should be hidden, like a concealed weapon only to be revealed when its too late.
